Meltech Engineering has enhanced its range of strand annealing furnaces with the new MT1300 high temperature furnace for stainless steel and complex alloys. The electrically heated furnace uses an advanced control technique to achieve accurate temperature zoning up to 1,300oC yet offers reduced running costs.

Meltech wire annealing furnaces are based on the ‘low thermal mass’ principle and feature multi-zone temperature control. The furnace is available in a range of sizes with a choice of heating element materials such as Kanthal APM, for processing wires typically 0.5mm – 6mm diameter. Customisation of element design allows optimisation of the MT1300’s performance to fine tune temperature zoning and increased element operational life.

The MT1300 uses advanced ceramic and insulation materials to give 90% thermal efficiency, leading to more consistent and manageable heating across the length of the furnace and reduced furnace heating running cost.

The Meltech 1300 is available as a standalone furnace or as part of a self contained Meltech annealing line with integral spooling through to large scale process annealing lines with capacities in excess of one tonne per hour. Meltech also manufactures annealing ancillary machinery to complement the annealing furnace including pay-off and take-up machinery and in-line ultrasonic cleaning baths all of which can be linked to a common process control system. kgs/hr.
