Meltech
Engineering has specialised in the design and manufacture
of strand annealing and heat
treatment furnaces for
stainless steel, titanium and complex alloys for over
25 years.
Meltech Engineering's range of strand
annealing furnaces are based on the ‘low thermal mass’ principle
and feature multi-zone temperature control up to 1,300OC.
Available in a range of sizes with a choice of heating
element materials such as Kanthal APM, for processing
wires typically 0.5mm – 6mm diameter, the furnaces
can be customised to fine tune temperature zoning and
increased element operational life.
The
strand annealing furnaces use advanced
ceramic and insulation materials to give 90% thermal
efficiency,
leading to more consistent and manageable heating across
the length of the furnace and reduced furnace heating
running cost. Furnaces can be supplied
standalone or as part of a self contained Meltech annealing
line
with integral spooling through to large scale process
annealing lines with capacities in excess of one tonne
per hour.
Meltech also manufactures annealing
ancillary machinery to complement the annealing furnace
including
pay-off and take-up machinery and in-line ultrasonic
cleaning baths all of which can be linked to a common
process control system.
